Gas Geochemistry of the Dogger Geothermal Aquifer ( Paris Basin , France )
نویسنده
چکیده
The low enthalpy program developped in the Paris Basin provides the opportunity for studying the gas geochemistry of the calcareous aquifer of the Dogger. Hydrocarbons and C02 are mainly biogenic, He displays high concentrations. He, Ar and N2 have multiple origins (radioactive decay, atmospheric migration, biochemical processes). The distribution of the gases in the zones of the basin varies in relation to the general chemistry, sedimentology and hydrodynamics. The gas geothermometers do not apply to this environment but useful estimations of the redox potential of the fluid can be derived from CO2/CH4 and Nz/NH$ ratios. H2 and H2S are involved in corrosion processes and scaling in the pipes.

Development and Exploitation of Low Enthalpy Geothermal Systems: Example of "the Dogger" in the Paris Basin, France
A feature of French geothermal engineering is the development of industrial projects in normal gradient, non-convective areas. The economic feasibility of exploitin producing between 150 and 350 m /h at temperatures from 5 5 O to 85' from depths of 1,500 to 2,000 meters, in sedimentary basins with normal gradient, for direct heat production has been proved by 50 plants providing heating for ove...

This article presents a numerical modeling application using the code TOUGHREACT of a leakage scenario occurring during a CO2 geological storage performed in the Jurassic Dogger formation in the Paris Basin. This geological formation has been intensively used for geothermal purposes and is now under consideration as a site for the French national program of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and...
متن کاملHydrothermal waters from karst aquifer: Case study of the Trozza basin (Central Tunisia)
Tunisia is rich in geothermal resources from ancient civilizations. Hydrothermal activity in Tunisia has been related to three main stages: magmatic and tectonic activities, eustatisme (Atlantic and Mediterranean coupling) and climate change. The principal factor and the responsable of this phenomenon is the meteoric water by piston flow processes. It constitue the catalyst of volcanism. The Tr...
متن کاملModelling of the kaolin deposits and reserve classification challenges of Charentes Basin, France
The kaolinitic clays have been exploited for more than a hundred years, in the western part of the Charentes Basin, France, and belong to a paleo-deltaic network. The recent deposits are relatively richer in alumina in comparison with the older ones. The genesis of the kaolin deposits of the Charentes Basin follows simple geological rules, but their detailed geometry has a great complexity, rei...
متن کامل3-D modelling of salt and heat transport during the 248 m.y. evolution of the Paris basin : diagenetic implications
– A 3-D model of the Paris basin was constructed to reconstitute its 248 m.y. geologic history from the Trias to the present. The model is based on detailed stratigraphic and lithographic data from about 1,100 petroleum drillings. Its scale is regional and it covers a surface area of 700,000 km, which exceeds the present extent of the basin in order to allow the paleogeographic evolution of the...
